Welcome to sweet Caroline's blogspot! For almost two years now, Caroline has been the spotlight of my bragging in the blog. Her only child status has changed and Caroline is getting a baby brudder! Rather than write two blogs, I am changing the name to include new bubby Ben! What a blessing these two children are in my life!

Busy Week

It's been a busy, mixed up week! I worked four days instead of two and I'm not sure what today is! I remember I went to Windy Hills one day and enjoyed Caroline...Wednesday I think it was!
Monday, Mimi sent me a picture of Caroline and Papaw watching Mickey and friends! I bet Mickey looked life size to Caroline on her new big screen TV!
Wednesday morning we took the bouncy seat out on the patio to enjoy some fresh air. We watched several deer graze in the backyard and two squirrels race each other round the trees! It got warm and humid quickly so we retreated inside where it was a little more hair friendly. Later on in the afternoon, Caroline and I sat outside and watched Ace and Deuce rip and romp while we waited for Mommy to come home.
Check out the new video just posted. Caroline is enjoying her squeaky giraffe, Gina.

Chick Pics

I probably shouldn't post these pictures as they were professionally taken but they aren't the originals. Actually, I put them on the fridge, took a picture of them with my phone...(hence the glow around my neck!), emailed them to myself, downloaded them to the blog ... sooo, technically... here they are anyway. I really, really like these pictures. Not because they are good, it's because of WHO is in them.
Our Caroline has a hunnerd faces and this shot is so crazy cute! She appears to be testing out the new freedom of her tongue! "Sthee, I can be cute AND sthilly at the sthame time!" She is such a doll baby but then again, I AM a wittle bit biased.
The second shot of Caroline and her Mommy is beautiful. Don't they look like movie stars? Mommy has taken good pictures since she was a baby but this one is stunning. Look at Caroline's hands, are they not just precious? She thought of that all herself! Told you she was smart.
The third picture is priceless to me. I'm so grateful to have my picture made with my absolute favoritest people in the whole wide world. Think Caroline is grinning because she knows she has us wrapped around her finger? Yeppers, prolly so.

TGIF and WPS!

Today was a busy day for two of my favorite gals...Granny Kat celebrated her 39th birthday! Yay Granny and Happy, HAPPY birthday to you. We all hope it was a really good birthday for you!
Miss Caroline went to the clinic this afternoon to get her four month shots. She was a real trooper too. I heard her crying as she got stuck but she had settled down by the time they returned to the waiting room. Just one little tear was all that was left! I talked to Mommy after I got home this evening and she reported that Caroline was doing well. That's good news too! Hopefully she won't have much discomfort from the nasty old shots. Caroline needs to be in tip top shape tomorrow so she can root the Hawgs on ...WPS!

Happy FOUR Month Caroline!

It’s been a few days since my last entry so I better catch up before I get fired! Let’s see…Happy 4 Month to Caroline. Our sweetie pie honey bun is FOUR MONTHS OLD! I realize that I say, “ I can’t believe it!” waaay too much, but I truly can’t. This time last year, we were told that a baby was on the way and now, our beautiful Caroline is here, she’s perfect, and she’s four months old. Amen anyone on flying time?
Sweet Caroline is changing every day. About the only time she is a cuddly wuddly arm baby is when she first wakes up and when she is trying to go to sleep (sometimes). Otherwise Caroline likes to sit erect when watching TV, no more bitty baby layin' for her. She also likes to swing and seems to enjoy the wind in her hair. Caroline is making a variety of different sounds now; one which can be especially alarming. When she sets up a good cry and is not satisfied quickly, she will make a sound that is a cross between a squeal and a whistle, like traffic cop uses. Trust me, it will get your attention and she does not hesitate to use it either! Ohmygoodness, it makes me nervous.
Caroline went to the doctor yesterday for her check up. She weighed in at a lean 14 pounds and she now 2ft. 2 in. tall! Miss Cootie Patootie has grown 6 inches in length since her arrival. Wowwiee! The doctor said she was doing fantabulous. Yay for Mommy and Daddy in taking such good care of our baby gurl! Bad news often follows good news though ;(…Caroline will go Friday to get her dreaded “Shots”. Hopefully they won’t affect her too badly, good thing is…Mommy will be home to make her feel all better, there’s nothin’ better than Mommy when a gal feels yucky.

The Hat on the Cat

It was Wear Your Hat at Home day in the Hills! Caroline modeled all of her hats - some fit, some didn't as you can tell. In the third picture, Caroline is sporting the cap she wore around the house when she got out of the hospital! I'm amazed at how much she has grown since May 18th. Our beautiful baby girl will be FOUR months old this Sunday. It just doesn't seem possible! What did we do pre Caroline? What did I talk about?

9-11

Sunday is the tenth anniversary of the most horrific event in our generation, 9-11. On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorist from the militant group, al-Queda, hijacked and crashed four commercial airliners, killing thousands of innocent Americans. This was a series of four coordinated suicide attacks upon the United States in New York City and the Washington DC area.
On that morning, the hijackers intentionally crashed two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City; both towers collapsed within two hours. A third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. A fourth jet, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania before it could reach its intended target in Washington, D.C. after the passengers attempted to take control. Nearly 3,000 died in the attacks.
Any of us who watched those events unfold will never be able to erase the images from our minds. Caroline will never remember this tragic event, she will only read about it just as we studied of tragedies that happened before our time. I hope as she learns of these events that she will come to love the country she lives in. I hope when she sees Old Glory that it will be a symbol of freedom to her. I hope when she hears The Star Spangled Banner or  God Bless America, that she will be proud of her country and pause to give thanks for those who gave their lives for it. For with all of her faults, failures, and disappointments, the United States is still the absolute best country in the world in which to live...... God Bless America.

Faces of Caroline

Papaw and Granny came to Windy Hills Thursday for a visit. Papaw brought his camera and took a few pictures of Caroline. She has so many different expressions and ALL of them are cute!

It's A Zoo Out Here

Greetings from Windy Hills where it's a ZOO today! We have dogs, bears, zebras, cows, giraffes...you name it - we got it! It's been a good morning here in the Hills. It started early, four o'clock early! Caroline was ready to get up to start her day. Needless to say, the rest of us were a little slower getting started! Caroline finally went back to sleep after some gentle rocking, for thirty minutes or more...zzzzz. After Mommy and Daddy went to work, Caroline and I set up camp in the living room with all of the animals. First to get a spit bath was Gina, the giraffe. Caroline seemed to handle her well! Check out the new video, How to Eat a Giraffe. Caroline gives Gina the Giraffe a good work out!

Caroline and Bella
Caroline and Mason
Do these sandals make me look fat?

Bouncy Bliss

Can you find Caroline?
Our little Caroline is such a good baby! Days spent with her are full! Feedings, naps, diaper changes, singing, learning colors, ABC's, and going outside to see Ace and Deuce! And of course, we must squeeze in a little HGTV after lunch. Unless she is wet or hungry, Caroline is a pleasant, content baby girl, always smiling! If she is awake, we sometimes sit by the window and watch for Mommy to come up the drive. At the end of the day, when Mommy and Daddy come home, Caroline lights up and turns her head toward the door when she hears them say "Helllooo" as they come in.

I'll Pay For This One

I know I shouldn't post these pictures. I can't help it, they are so adorable, if only to me. So Caroline, please forgive me and don't hide my cane when you see these someday! I wub you.... After our first nap yesterday, I wiped Caroline off with a warm wash cloth and some baby lotion so she would smell a little more babylike - fresher, if you will. As an after thought, I made a quick swipe across her head. Ooops, oh no ... baby lotion! All I could do was laugh and you see in the picture the glare I received from Caroline. (It's just that her hair is never that flat.), The second photo is Granny burping Caroline. At just the perfect moment, Papaw Glenn snapped this shot. I think it's a favorite. Caroline appears to have teeth, two of them! Even though I know they're bubbles, I think of Chiclet's Gum!
Be sure to check out two new videos listed at the top right of the blog. Caroline seemed to sense being recorded and was a little quieter than usual. Wouldn't you know, the minute I turned it off, she chattered like a chimp!
