Caroline’s birthday dawned warm and bright. At least it seemed bright as Caroline woke with nothing but smiles! Mommy cooked Belgium waffles for breakfast and they were wonderful. Caroline enjoyed several bites and when she had her fill, she tossed the leftovers to the floor! After a quick clean up, we got ready to go shopping for the party on Saturday. We made a stop at America’s favorite retailer, Wal-Mart. Caroline enjoyed her buggy time, looking at the sky lights and throwing out an occasional “Hey” to the passing shoppers. It was getting close to lunch time and our birthday girl was getting hungry. Mommy reached in the buggy and offered Caroline what I call, Food in a Toob. Caroline eyed it for a second then squeezed and sucked on it until it was flat! When it came time to check out, the lady came around to the buggy to scan the empty toob! Caroline wasn’t going to let go of it!
Saturday, the big party day went fast and furious. Mommy decorated in warp speed mode to hang the decorations make sure every detail was perfect….which it was! Daddy had to work a while but he had made sure the yard and tables and chairs and bushes were perfect the day before, and they were! Caroline went down for a good nap and woke ready to party. Mommy dressed her in her birthday tutu to greet the guest. The party was awesome, the food yummy, and Caroline... well…just perfect. Family and friends sang Happy Birthday and Caroline enjoyed opening her presents. Mommy stripped Caroline down to her diaper when it was time to enjoy her very own smash cupcake. I’m not sure what Caroline thought of it but she did know where to put it! It was a wonderful day to celebrate a special birthday. Happy First Birthday to our one and only - Sweet Caroline.
