This week Caroline is 18 months old! She's no longer a baby but a very independent young lady. Often times when we are together, she starts a conversation. I listen as close as I can but I just can't make out all of her words. That's when my 'tending' skills come in handy, I 'tend I understand and talk back as if I DO know what she's saying!
It's almost week 26 and Bubby is growing by leaps and bounds, reaching nine inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark. Experts say that our little Prince is the size of an eggplant! Under his skin, capillaries are forming and filling with blood and by week's end, air sacs will develop in his lungs, getting them ready for that first breath. Mind you, those lungs aren't ready for prime time just yet — but they are developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth. And speaking of breathing, Bubby’s tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open, and his vocal chords are getting ready to roar and in time, Bubby will be jabberin' up a storm, just like his big sis does now! In addition to all this totally amazing news....guess what? Bubby is growing more hair — and if we could see it, we’d now be able to make out its color and texture. I hope his hair is as pretty as Caroline's...but in a boyish way of course!![]() |

Whooo went to the big old sandy beaches of Flawda for the first time ev-er? Our little swimsuit model, Caroline, that’s who! Last weekend, Mommy and Daddy took advantage of a beach invite from Nan and Papa Mark. They loaded up Thursday afternoon and made the drive to the Florida coast. Mommy said Caroline was awesome and made the trip just fine. At one point when I spoke to Mommy during the ride, Missy Caroline was reading a book! After setting up camp on the beach, Caroline enjoyed the sand- she was a busy bee busy digging and building with her pails and toys. Even the birds enjoyed Caroline visiting the beautiful coastline. They chirped and bounced and put on quite a show for her....see the video of diva Caroline and the beach birds! Although it was a fast trip, everyone enjoyed visiting and soaking up some summertime sun. | Serious about MM Club! |
The summer is winding down and school is on the horizon. Matter of fact, it’s so close, you can feel the tension in Wal-Mart on the school supply aisle! Mommy has already returned for prep work so I went to Windy Hills today to keep Caroline. That cute, little girl is becoming quite a comedian. She is making some of the funniest faces and doing some of the funniest things! One thing Caroline enjoys is pulling wash cloths out of the cabinet and throwing them about or using them as pom-poms!
A few weeks ago, I went to Windy Hills to see my favorite little peep. After I went in and got my dose of sugah, Mommy told Caroline to give me the gift pictured. I opened it to find a sweet little February amethyst bead to go on my bead bracelet. I said, "Thank you so much but I already have your birthstone, Lindsey." She said, "That's the month your other grandchild will be here." You could have thumped me and I would have fallen over! After the initial shock wore off and I was able to close my mouth (!) we all three hugged and laughed and cried. Poor Caroline didn't have a clue as to what was happening, she just knew she didn't like it and gave us one of her infamous frowns, furrowed her brow, and pooched her bottom lip!
I'm so excited!! I get to blog about Caroline as well as fruits and vegetables again!! And when February gets here, I will be just as nervous and excited and happy as I was the day Caroline made her debut. I know this precious lil baby will be totally awesome just like her/his big sis. (Sounds odd!!) I'm so thankful that I'll be blessed with another beautiful grandchild! Oh my gosh, that will make two you know. Hey, have I shown you the latest picture of..........ooops. Sorry, there I go again!
Earlier today, Caroline and Mommy drove me to Monroe to pick up a few unnecessary items! We mainly just wanted to get out for a while and Mommy did have an item or two to return. Our tummies growling, we went to McAlister's for a big old glass of sweet tea and sandwich. Caroline ordered a gwilled cheese sammich and apple sthauce from the kid menu. As Mommy was getting our tea and water, a very nice man behind the counter walked out with a huge yellow balloon for Caroline! She said something I couldn't understand and trembled as he handed the balloon to her. After we got seated, I tied the balloon to her high chair. See the video for evidence of her delight over her yellow balloon. When we got back to Granny and Papaw's house, Caroline was treated to an orange push-up. Caroline enjoys her visits to Granny's, she gets anything she wants. After all, isn't that what grandchildren are for? Spoiling rottenly sweet! ![]() |

I don't remember taking many pictures of Caroline NOT smiling. She is the happiest baby girl I've ever seen! She's happy doing anything! It doesn't matter whether she's eating, folding towels, or just sitting and chatting with her new hootie owl - Caroline is happy. Every now and then, when my day turns a bit sour, I whip out my handy dandy iPhone and look at a picture of Caroline. My mood lightens and in an instant, I have to smile. I know I'm a little biased, but isn't she the cutest thing you've ever laid eyes on? A bit ago, Daddy sent me a video clip of Caroline. I won't ruin the surprise for you....just check out the new video, Caroline WALKS!
Caroline kept the road hot this week, she came to town twice! Mimi and Papaw invited Caroline for an overnight stay Saturday evening. Mimi sent me a picture Sunday morning of Caroline taking a ride in her monkey pj's. Looks like she knows about steering..three and six right?
Mommy had a two day workshop at school this week so Caroline invited me up to visit. We had great time playing inside the house. When we did go out, we quickly came back inside and enjoyed getting the shivers from the coolness of the kitchen! After dinner last night, Caroline got in some pool time. She loves the water and nearly wore Mommy out going up and down her slide!![]() |

I went to Windy Hills this morning to visit my two flavorite girls. I was greeted warmly but then I did take Mickey D biscuits! Caroline was in rare form - babbling and giving hugs. After a while, Granny and Papaw Glenn came up for a Caroline fix. Daddy came in shortly with peaches he picked in Hampton. OH MY...the peaches were ready to eat and dripping good! Caroline and Papaw quickly peeled one to share. When they had their fill, Caroline required a good wipe down and her shirt had to be Shout-ed for stains! It was a wonderful day spent on Windy Hills!
