Welcome to sweet Caroline's blogspot! For almost two years now, Caroline has been the spotlight of my bragging in the blog. Her only child status has changed and Caroline is getting a baby brudder! Rather than write two blogs, I am changing the name to include new bubby Ben! What a blessing these two children are in my life!

Eleven Months Young

What a big girl our little girl is now. Eleven months and counting down to the big First birthday bash on Windy Hills Lane. What a fun time we’re going to have. Parrtay! Parrtay! I know Mommy has worked feverishly for weeks on creative ideas to make the party perfect for our lil Cupcake! Hint, hint…(Theme party!) The guest room is so full of decorations and goodies that it’s hard to see the bed! So charge up the batteries, get your iPhones ready, Caroline will be celebrated big and in style in only 23 days!!
I’m sure Caroline won’t really know what is going on other than, “Hey, I’m getting cake today and having to wear a fancy schmancy outfit, what’s up with this?” Seems just yesterday we were counting down the days until we would find out ‘what’ we were having. Then, we were counting down to ‘when’ we were having. I won’t even mention how long last May 18th seemed, sitting in the waiting room...t i c k  t o c k! I do believe the saying now more than ever…time does indeed fly.
Check out the new video, Caroline enjoying her red wagon!

Happy Anniversary To Granny & Papaw

Brown eyes met hazel from far across the room,
And that one look was held, by a future bride and groom.
They fell in love and courted, and then they exchanged vows
They had cuddles, they had laughter, they had their little rows.
They've shared their life together now, for 58 short years!
They've had their share of sorrow, disappointments and some tears.
They've also had their good times and raised a family
And I am as proud of them as parents as any child could be!
(I wish I could take credit for writing the poem but I can't. I found it by accident online and it was so fitting that I just had to use it today.)

Today is a very special day for two very special people. Fifty eight, yes, 58 years ago, my Mom and Dad married. There's not enough room on the blog to say how much they are loved or how much they mean to me and to so many others that know them. We ALL love you two so very much and hope your anniversary is as special to you as you are to all of us!

Easter Chick

Easter weekend was a grand time for Caroline! She went to Mimi and Papaw's house on Saturday to visit and hunt eggs with cousins, Livi and Lily. The girls looked precious in their smocked dresses and bows. Speaking of bows, little Miss Caroline has taken up the habit of feeling her hair to make sure there is no bow. If there's one, she will without fail, pull it out pronto! Anyway, back to the story....On Easter Sunday, Caroline with Mommy and Daddy, went to church services with Mimi, Papaw, Lily, Livi, Aunt Liana, Uncle Trey...I bet the pew was full!
After church, Caroline brought her Mommy and Daddy to Granny and Papaw Glenn's house for an Easter feast. Any time Granny says, "What do y'all want for lunch?", the general consensus is always the favorites of the family. We love her famous fried chicken, cream taters, English peas, and fried okra. Oh how we ate, and ate, and suffered! After lunch, we passed Caroline around until we got sleepy, which didn't take long! It was a wonderful Easter day spent with family!

Happy Days

Now that the pollen is gone, Caroline is enjoying the outdoors more. She loves to go strolling down the drive while Ace and Deuce walk along side her. Last week, we took the walker out on the concrete and let Caroline push herself around. She finally learned how to maneuver herself forward. Once she got the hang of it, Caroline was zippin' around the carport! Think of the fun when the tricycle lessons begin!!

Just a Swangin' !

Caroline turned 10 months old yesterday. Yes, TEN months! She spent the afternoon swinging with her best bud, Jack, in his backyard! Mommy said Caroline LOVED the swing and wasn't afraid at all.
Jack looks a little timid in the first picture, as if to say, "Otay, you got a piture, now lemme outta here!". Caroline appears to be enjoying the swing as well as annoying Jack, who is enduring it like a trooper!

A Chef in the Makin'

As I sat here on the sofa with my laptop, pondering what to blog, I heard a Sherwood Forest text tone. I knew it was from Caroline's Daddy. I opened the text message to find a picture. After scratching around to find my readers, I saw this photo of Caroline! What a cute little cupcake sitting on the floor pondering what to put in her pans!! Mimi said that Daddy, Andy, and Liana, loved pots and pans too! Caroline is following a Barton family tradition! While you're here, check the video list to the right for a short clip of Caroline playing peek a boo, it's cute as can be!

Bad Hair Day

Caroline will surely make us pay for sharing  this picture someday but for now, it sure makes us smile! Daddy gave Caroline her bath last night and got her ready for bed. I think he had great fun styling her hair! We couldn't help but laugh, not at sweet Caroline but the hair style Daddy chose for her!

Strollin' Into Spring!

This week the weather was so warm (and humid) that Caroline and I strolled outside quite a bit! She loves the outdoors! We walk down the driveway to the creek with Ace and Deuce. If we go past the creek, the boys bark at us wanting us to come back. A while back, Daddy installed an electric underground dog stopper fence thing that will zap'em if they cross it! We've heard Deuce squawk several times when he forgot his boundary! If there is a strong breeze, Caroline will watch the trees sway with the wind. I often wonder what she is thinking. If we are outside when Mommy comes home, we wait for her to get close then we race her to the garage. Mommy usually wins...it's uphill!

Pinky the Poodle and Mommy

Caroline is almost over a nasty respiratory infection that came on last Wednesday. She woke up with a slight cough and fever that developed quickly as the day progressed. Mommy, ever watchful, was ahead of the game and got Caroline to the doctor and started on medication early on. Although she was sick, Caroline gave it her all to maintain her cheerful spirit and sunny disposition. She was a bit clingy but never cranky. On Thursday, her fever was still a little high. As a precaution, the doctor sent Caroline to the hospital for an RSV swab. It wasn't long after we got home that the nurse called to say the test was negative! We were relieved to hear this good news. By Friday, sweet Caroline started to feel a little better. Mommy sent me a video today and you can tell by the way Caroline is jumping that she is almost as good as new! See the video top right of our sweet baby girl as she works off a little steam! What I would do for a mere thimbleful of her energy!!

Nine Months Old

It's so amazing to watch our NINE month old Caroline! She is such a big girl, performing all sorts of new tricks every day. Caroline now has five teeth with another waiting to errupt any day now...they're sharp too. When she leans in to me to give me a sweet bye bye smooch, I sense her hesitation as she decides whether to smooch or bite!
Caroline has started making clicking noises in the back of her throat as well as says dahdahdah over and over!  Sometimes when I bounce her on my knee, she will hum to herself if she is sleepy. When you getchie goo her or tickle her, she will wrinkle her nose and turn her head to the side very quickly as if she is is teased. Caroline is no longer an arm baby that likes to rock and snuggle. After she has her bottle, she is either ready to romp or squirms to be put in her big girl bed for her nap. She still sputters sometimes when she eats but it's mostly when she's full or is protesting the green beans she's being fed! Caroline loves to go outside in her stroller to watch Ace and Deuce run and play. She will actually tremble with excitement when they come close for a sniff. In the afternoons, we watch for Mommy or Daddy to come home. When she sees their vehicle come up the drive, she will bounce furiously and wave her arms to welcome them home.

Happy Birfday Daddy!

What better way to spend down time than with your favorite guy in his favorite chair!! Caroline loves her Daddy's recliner almost as much as he does. It's her favorite place to curl up and watch Wheel of Fortune! She's a Wheel Watcher....Mommy sent me this picture a while back and I wanted to save it for a special day which happens to be tomorrow, Feb. 9th. A very important person is celebrating a birthday! Yay Daddy! Caroline asked me to blog birfday wishes to her Daddy and she also added don't be late with it either! So here's wishing Daddy an early Happy Birthday from Caroline and the rest of the gang. Hope your day is super dooper good and chocked full of happy thoughts! PS......Check out the new video at the top right. Our little papoose is pulling up!

Happy 30 Birfday to Mommy!

Happy Birthday Lindsey!
Another busy week to add to the blog! Wednesday, Caroline and I planned to give Mommy an early birthday party since they were going to Nawlins for the weekend. We began our errands shortly after Mommy and Daddy left for work. We ran to get a quick oil change then went to Gift Shaker to get Mommy a present. By then it was time for lunch so we had a fast jar of sweet taters and fruit for dessert. We then went to the Village bakery for a yummy carrot cake and cookies. Good thing Caroline got a car nap in cause we had a lot of things to do! Mommy came home from school and we had everything hid in the guest room. Later in the evening, Mommy decided to run get a pedicure (thank goodness) and pick up some salads for us. While she was gone, Caroline and I quickly put everything out on the kitchen table. When Mommy came in, she was so surprised! We had fun, the cake was delish, and Caroline enjoyed helping open presents!
Friday morning, on Mommy's big THREE OH birthday, Mommy and Daddy dropped Caroline off at Granny and Papaw's house then left for Nawlins. (This was the first overnight visit for Caroline away from Mommy and Daddy.) I took Caroline to Mimi and Papaw Danny's house Saturday to finish out the weekend. We all had such a great time with Caroline in between calls from Mommy! Lol!! I can't wait for Daddy's birthday this week so Caroline can come for another weekend visit...hint, hint!! We love you Mommy and hope your birthday weekend was as special to you as you are to us!

Wittle Wed Waggin

Caroline got a little red wagon for Christmas and we tried it out Friday afternoon. The weather was cool and the wind was a little stiff so we bundled up Baby Gir and new baby doll, Giggles, for the ride. Papaw took them for a loop or two down the driveway. From all accounts, both enjoyed the ride!

The Race Is On

This has been quite the weekend for Caroline! Apart from a toofie getting reading to burst on the scene, Caroline is officially crawling. Well, sort of crawling...let's just say she is scootin' on her tummy and gaining ground quickly. Mommy sent me an iPhone video, Our Little Inchworm, a bit ago and I have posted here for everyone to watch. After saving and transfering, the image quality isn't that great but you can tell the little bugger is moving!! Note to self: Get knee pads, Aleve, and Shout from Wal-Mart!

Eight Months Old, No Way

BEFORE...
AFTER !
I know it's true because I was there and the calendar doesn't lie but....I can't believe Caroline is EIGHT months old! She is growing way too fast. In four short months, we'll celebrate her first birthday! Wahhht?
Granny and Papaw Glenn came up yesterday for a visit and brought lunch. After her nap, Caroline showed us her crawling skills in the living room. We sat her toys just out of reach and she would half crawl and half scoot to retrieve the toy!! She went a good distance before getting tired. It won't be many more days before she will be mobile and then it will be on! Not only is Caroline trying to crawl, she is just about to cut another toof. She has taken her bottles fine but is not eating her baby food as she usually does. Mommy checked out her gums and confirmed that the little Chiklet is well on it's way. Won't be long now! Earlier this week, Mommy sent me the photos on this post. Hint...toy placement!

Two Little Cuties Sittin' in a Tub

Splish splash, they were taking a bath....
CaroLion is enjoying tubby time with her bff, ChloeBear, from North Arkansas. Chloe, and mom Natalie, are in for a quick weekend visit at Windy Hills. It's been a while since the girls...big and little, have enjoyed a giggle party -I'm betting it will be a late night tonight!!
I wish we all lived a little closer to each other so everyone could visit more. Since that not possible, it just makes the time spent together all the more special. Hope you gals have a blast!!

Holidays Are Over

The holidays are over and everyone is back to work which means the grandmas are back to work in full force! Even though I've seen Caroline over the Christmas / New Year break, she has changed so much and grown by leaps and bounds! She is making many different noises and sounds and is gesturing in so many different ways. It's amazing how much she has changed!
Our little princess has learned how to use her two teefies to get your attention too! When I hold her sitting down, I normally face her forward and hold my hand on her tummy to help her stay balanced. Friday, I thought Caroline was kissing the top off my hand until I felt a sharp nip! I said ouch and moved my hand quickly. I had two little teef prints on the back of my hand. Caroline must have thought it  was funny as she tried it again! I kept my hand there just to see what he would do and sure nuff, she tried to nip me again! The little bugger!!
Caroline is eating very well. She likes everything but green beans and peas and I can't say I blame her too much there! She takes a big old 8 ounce bottle at night before bedtime and sleeps all night until 7 or 8 the next morning! It's unbelieveable that in 10 days Caroline will be 8 months old!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year errybody, hope your New Year has started off good! I rang in the New Year in a different way this year. Mommy and Daddy were invited to Cara and John's home and Caroline didn't really want to go with them so....she invited me to a sleep-over. Caroline was asleep when Mommy and Daddy left but soon woke up. We played with a few of her new toys but she didn't seem interested, she acted like she was still sleepy. I made her a big ole 8 ouncer and we rocked a little more as she had her bottle. Caroline went to sleep again! I kept rocking her for a bit longer to make sure she was good asleep. I guess I rocked both of us to sleep because half an hour later, I woke up to the neighbors shooting fireworks! It wasn't even close to midnight...yawn... I put Caroline in her room, whispered Happy New Year, and shuffled to the guest room with the baby monitor. We both slept like babies and woke up this morning to 2012!

Christmas Eve Eve

I spent the night with Caroline last night so Mommy and Daddy could go to a Christmas party at Daddy's work. Caroline wasn't feeling too chipper as her congestion has returned. We still had a good time in spite of her cold. Caroline ate a little tub of veggies and enjoyed another little tub of fruit. She ate every bite...without sputtering this time!! After Caroline ate, I had a sandwich and chips. Caroline watched every bite that went into my mouth. A few bites in to the sandwich, I began to feel guilty with her watching. It felt like a puppy begging for a tidbit!! It was all I could do to keep from giving her a teeny, tiny morsel. We played on the floor for a bit then she sat in her jumpy seat and bounced for quite a while. Nine o'clock and it was bottle time. Wasn't long fore Caroline was out like a light for the night. It was good to be with her since I haven't seen her in a while. I'm anxious to see her open her Christmas gifts and especially anxious to see what Santa leaves for her on her very first Christmas!

Twas the Sunday Before Christmas

Caroline sported one of her Christmas outfits for church today and it appears that she is a little nosy when wearing her Christmas threads too! Wonder what was in the sack? The last photo is Amanda and Caroline's new friend, Charlie Kaye. Christmas is always a happy occasion but when there are little ones to celebrate with, it's all the more special!
Check out the video, just uploaded. Caroline is prim and proper when in her dressy dresses but when she gets down to the skin to eat...she becomes a spitting machine!!
