Welcome to sweet Caroline's blogspot! For almost two years now, Caroline has been the spotlight of my bragging in the blog. Her only child status has changed and Caroline is getting a baby brudder! Rather than write two blogs, I am changing the name to include new bubby Ben! What a blessing these two children are in my life!

Cool Pool

Mommy had a two day workshop at school this week so Caroline invited me up to visit. We had great time playing inside the house. When we did go out, we quickly came back inside and enjoyed getting the shivers from the coolness of the kitchen! After dinner last night, Caroline got in some pool time. She loves the water and nearly wore Mommy out going up and down her slide!
Caroline and I had a tea party this morning before lunch. She pretended to drink out of her teacup then offered me a sip. About the time I got my mouth to the cup, she quickly moved it back to her lips. When the cup got to her lips, she threw her head back as if to drain the last drop out of the cup then gave me a huge grin. She knew she was fooling me!

Summertime Fun!

Livi, Caroline, and Lily.
Sweet baby girl!
What a good busy time Caroline is having this summer. Her birthday party, a trip to North Arkansas, pool parties with cousins, visits to grandparents...and the list goes on! One trip Caroline didn't enjoy was a trip to the doctor to get her vaccinations last Friday. Mommy called me to give me an update and she was a little anxious. She said Caroline got FIVE injections in her little arm. Hearing that made me cringe! Other than a little soreness, Caroline did very well inspite of the nasty old shots.
I added a video of Caroline jumping in her bed...yes, I let her jump on her bed...just once. :))  See the video named Caro-cardio!

A Fruit-ful Day

I went to Windy Hills this morning to visit my two flavorite girls. I was greeted warmly but then I did take Mickey D biscuits! Caroline was in rare form - babbling and giving hugs. After a while, Granny and Papaw Glenn came up for a Caroline fix. Daddy came in shortly with peaches he picked in Hampton. OH MY...the peaches were ready to eat and dripping good! Caroline and Papaw quickly peeled one to share. When they had their fill, Caroline required a good wipe down and her shirt  had to be Shout-ed for stains! It was a wonderful day spent on Windy Hills!

Happy Father's Day!

Caroline cooking with Daddy!
Standing on her own!
Pool parrrrty!
Sending out Happy Father's Day wishes to all the men in our family that are so special to us. I hope you've all had a really good day.
I saw Caroline for a few minutes today, she was so sleepy that all she could do was rub her nose. She had been to church with Mommy and Daddy and it was lunch time AND nap time! I tried to get her to give me sugar but as usual, she turned her head and grinned! Stinker!
I'm posting several pictures of Caroline taken last week. One is especially cute of her standing, yes standing!!... all by her little self in her pool! Won't be long now and we'll be chasing her. Or Caroline chasing us!

Watta Baby

Caroline received several swimsuits for her birthday and it appears she tried them all out this Memorial weekend! With temps reaching 95 degrees, it's a smart idea to stay hydrated. The pool is the perfect place to get that hydration. Mommy sent me a picture of Caroline climbing on top of her walker. She is venturing out more and higher the last few days... I foresee some bumps and bruises in the near future! It may not be too long before our explorer starts taking a step or two without assistance. Caroline went to the doctor today for her well check and got an excellent report. She now weighs 22 pounds and is 2 feet 7 inches. She is healthy as can be. The trip to the check up was so taxing, Mommy said Caroline took a THREE hour nap this afternoon!

Little La Tee Daaa

Best Dressed Baby at the Pool

Who is this gorgeous little movie star lounging around the pool in her very own personal floation device? Well, well,  reports are in that this is our stunning little darlin, Miss CoCo Caroline Chanel from Windy Hills !!
What better way to start off the three day weekend than a trip to the pool?   The sunglasses complete the look for our cute little cupcake!
Mommy said Caroline LOVED the pool outing and I don't doubt it either - I've had the pleasure of giving her a bath! She enjoys water, period. Have a super fun weekend Caroline, stay cool and enjoy the pool!!

I'm A Big Girl Now

Mommy is out of school, let the summer begin! I'm happy for Mommy to be off ... but ... I'm going to miss my Caro-lion on W, T, & F. I may have to make a play date with Caroline once a week to get my fix!
Mommy sent me two pictures of Caroline earlier today. Now that she is one, Caroline is a front facing car rider. Mommy said she liked facing forward but  the car naps may be over - there's too much for Caroline to see coming at her! The second photo is Caroline buttering up Mason for his fish and fries! What a big girl ...practicing her charms already!
I spoke to Mommy later today and she told me that Caroline is now waving and saying Bye-Bye! Seems every day brings news of another 'first." Daddy sent me a video of Caroline playing in the sprinkler, check it out - it will make you laugh out loud!

Happy Birthday Sweet Caroline!

Caroline’s birthday dawned warm and bright. At least it seemed bright as Caroline woke with nothing but smiles! Mommy cooked Belgium waffles for breakfast and they were wonderful. Caroline enjoyed several bites and when she had her fill, she tossed the leftovers to the floor! After a quick clean up, we got ready to go shopping for the party on Saturday. We made a stop at America’s favorite retailer, Wal-Mart. Caroline enjoyed her buggy time, looking at the sky lights and throwing out an occasional “Hey” to the passing shoppers. It was getting close to lunch time and our birthday girl was getting hungry. Mommy reached in the buggy and offered Caroline what I call, Food in a Toob. Caroline eyed it for a second then squeezed and sucked on it until it was flat! When it came time to check out, the lady came around to the buggy to scan the empty toob! Caroline wasn’t going to let go of it!
Saturday, the big party day went fast and furious. Mommy decorated in warp speed mode to hang the decorations make sure every detail was perfect….which it was! Daddy had to work a while but he had made sure the yard and tables and chairs and bushes were perfect the day before, and they were! Caroline went down for a good nap and woke ready to party. Mommy dressed her in her birthday tutu to greet the guest. The party was awesome, the food yummy, and Caroline... well…just perfect. Family and friends sang Happy Birthday and Caroline enjoyed opening her presents. Mommy stripped Caroline down to her diaper when it was time to enjoy her very own smash cupcake. I’m not sure what Caroline thought of it but she did know where to put it! It was a wonderful day to celebrate a special birthday. Happy First Birthday to our one and only - Sweet Caroline.

I Can't Believe It!

I got a sweet phone call from Granny this afternoon reporting on their day at Windy Hills. She said Caroline was super. Granny said when they arrived this morning, Mommy came in the kitchen with Caroline. When Caroline saw Momma, she said, "Granny!" Plain as can be. Can you believe it? Whaaa? Wait, there's more... this afternoon when Granny came out of the house with a drink for Caroline, Caroline said, "Fat Kat!" when she saw Momma,  plain as could be again! Tell us Papaw...where did she hear THAT? Hmm?

Halfway Through May

May is such a bizz-eee month! Mother’s Day, Graduation, end of school, and of course… Caroline’s first birthday and par-tay! A lot to do in a very short time!
Last Saturday, Daddy was so sweet to his girls by taking them to Little Rock for the day. They went to the Wonder Place where Caroline enjoyed her self immensely. I understand there were all sorts of kid friendly things to do. Mommy made a short visit to several of her favorite places then the tired bunch went home.
Sunday was Mother’s Day and Mommy was treated to breakfast by Daddy and Caroline. Even Caroline enjoyed a bit of grown up breakfast. Mommy said she even tried a little whole milk and cried when they took it away from her. Cry? Our sweet Caroline? No, surely not!! The pressure is on and Mommy is finalizing details for the party this Saturday. I can’t wait to see Caroline dive into her cake and get all sugared up! I'm ready for some cake too, hope it's choco-lahhhte.

Our Little Jewel

With a Big Birthday only days away, the pressure to blog is strong. Only ten days left to write about our sweet little baby girl. Can you call babies babies after they turn one?
Caroline is such an amazing little thing. I see her climbing a little more and crawling from room to room instead of round the living room. When I say no (which isn't very often), Caroline will give a tiny sideways shake of her head. The shake is a no-no shake as if to say, "I know, but I'm little and you have to over look what I did cause I'm gonna do it again, and again...." Check out the new video when you get a minute, Caroline had fun babbling in the bubble bath!

Life Is Good At Windy Hills

You Are My Sunshine

In less than 18 days, we will celebrate Caroline's first birthday, ONE YEAR old! Has this past year has flown by in warp speed or what? I'm so glad I saw Grandbec's blog of Chloe. It inspired me to create and keep our blog current for Caroline (and me!). The blog is my Grandma's baby book to help me remember the little things as well as the biggies!!
Several times a week, I wander back to the beginning ... look at earlier posts and read in awe of  the milestones that Caroline has made. It is my greatest joy to watch her grow into a toddler, that lil baby gurl has given us the most fantastic memories to record and reflect on. She is indeed our little Sunshine!

Eleven Months Young

What a big girl our little girl is now. Eleven months and counting down to the big First birthday bash on Windy Hills Lane. What a fun time we’re going to have. Parrtay! Parrtay! I know Mommy has worked feverishly for weeks on creative ideas to make the party perfect for our lil Cupcake! Hint, hint…(Theme party!) The guest room is so full of decorations and goodies that it’s hard to see the bed! So charge up the batteries, get your iPhones ready, Caroline will be celebrated big and in style in only 23 days!!
I’m sure Caroline won’t really know what is going on other than, “Hey, I’m getting cake today and having to wear a fancy schmancy outfit, what’s up with this?” Seems just yesterday we were counting down the days until we would find out ‘what’ we were having. Then, we were counting down to ‘when’ we were having. I won’t even mention how long last May 18th seemed, sitting in the waiting room...t i c k  t o c k! I do believe the saying now more than ever…time does indeed fly.
Check out the new video, Caroline enjoying her red wagon!

Happy Anniversary To Granny & Papaw

Brown eyes met hazel from far across the room,
And that one look was held, by a future bride and groom.
They fell in love and courted, and then they exchanged vows
They had cuddles, they had laughter, they had their little rows.
They've shared their life together now, for 58 short years!
They've had their share of sorrow, disappointments and some tears.
They've also had their good times and raised a family
And I am as proud of them as parents as any child could be!
(I wish I could take credit for writing the poem but I can't. I found it by accident online and it was so fitting that I just had to use it today.)

Today is a very special day for two very special people. Fifty eight, yes, 58 years ago, my Mom and Dad married. There's not enough room on the blog to say how much they are loved or how much they mean to me and to so many others that know them. We ALL love you two so very much and hope your anniversary is as special to you as you are to all of us!

Easter Chick

Easter weekend was a grand time for Caroline! She went to Mimi and Papaw's house on Saturday to visit and hunt eggs with cousins, Livi and Lily. The girls looked precious in their smocked dresses and bows. Speaking of bows, little Miss Caroline has taken up the habit of feeling her hair to make sure there is no bow. If there's one, she will without fail, pull it out pronto! Anyway, back to the story....On Easter Sunday, Caroline with Mommy and Daddy, went to church services with Mimi, Papaw, Lily, Livi, Aunt Liana, Uncle Trey...I bet the pew was full!
After church, Caroline brought her Mommy and Daddy to Granny and Papaw Glenn's house for an Easter feast. Any time Granny says, "What do y'all want for lunch?", the general consensus is always the favorites of the family. We love her famous fried chicken, cream taters, English peas, and fried okra. Oh how we ate, and ate, and suffered! After lunch, we passed Caroline around until we got sleepy, which didn't take long! It was a wonderful Easter day spent with family!
Check out the new video, Mini Hover Round!
