Welcome to sweet Caroline's blogspot! For almost two years now, Caroline has been the spotlight of my bragging in the blog. Her only child status has changed and Caroline is getting a baby brudder! Rather than write two blogs, I am changing the name to include new bubby Ben! What a blessing these two children are in my life!

Happy Thanksgiving Caroline!
Four little turkeys under a tree, one waddled off, and then there were three.
Three little turkeys with nothing to do, one waddled off, and then there were two.
Two little turkeys in the noonday sun, one waddled off, and then there was one.
One little turkey better run away, for soon it will be our Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Thanksgiving to my Sweet Caroline Barton!!

Growing Pains
Our baby girl is growing up...;( Each day brings little changes in Caroline that is so exciting to see evolve! Just in the last few days, a wittle bitty toofie has errupted..finally! Plus, it looks like there may be another one coming before long. Daddy sent me the first picture this evening, it's Caroline sitting in front of the fireplace, all by her little self. She is completely mesmerized by the crackling fire! The second photo is Caroline's first time to sit in a restaurant seat instead of her carrier seat. I can see independence on the horizion. Won't be long before our cuddy, wuddly, little arm baby turns into a squiggly, squirmy, back arching, want to get out of your lap little lady. I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up cuddle time but then, the rewards of watching Caroline master her next feat is priceless!

Fuzzy Hat Day

I got up early this morning and made my trek to Windy Hills. The drive was a little odd as the sun was already up and shining. I got to Caroline's house and she was still asleep!! Apparently she had a restless dawn (time change I think) and was still asleep as her ma and pa were up getting ready for work...the little snooze-meister! Caroline did wake up just in time to see Mommy off to school! We lazed around most of the morning then had lunch. Me soup, Caroline rice cereal. After lunch, Caroline wanted to go out for a stroll. It was still a bit cool and windy so I bundled her up with blanket, hat, and passy and we went out. After a while, I noticed she was rubbing her sleepy eyes so we went in for a nap. Being a little sleepy myself, I thought I'd take a nap too. I put sleeping Caroline in her bed and I got in the recliner and drifted off. I woke up to gahh gahh. Wow that was a good nap I said to meself...all of 15 minutes of it!! Yawn..... See two new videos, Feedin Time and Getting Some Fresh Air, that I took today. That Caroline sure is a funny little girl!Tuesday, November 08, 2011
Shopping 101

Wow, I can't believe it's been a week since my last post! I'm shamed...Oh well, anyway, last week, Mommy was out of school for two days so Caroline invited Mommy and me to Branson for a shopping trip! Thursday morning we packed the old Ford exploder with all the necessary items and began our little excursion. Caroline and I were the backseat drivers for Mommy, we helped her change lanes! I admit... I was a little nervous about the long ride for Caroline but boy did she fool me! That precious little thing was an absolute angel the whole way. She would sleep a while then eat a while. We stopped several times to let her stretch and get in a quick diaper change then off we'd go. In no time, we got to our destination which was very nice. Great accommodations and a super comfy bed. Caroline especially enjoyed the bed after riding for so long. On Friday we shopped and shopped and Caroline was again, perfect. And yes, she received several nice treats for being such a wonderful little girl. Saturday morning came bright and early, Mommy herded us out of the room so we could get on the road. Once again, Caroline was the best little thing. When we arrived in Conway, we stopped and let Caroline air out a little by taking her to Pier 1 for a few Christmas ornaments. After some Chik-Fil-A, we headed south to Windy Hills. We had so much fun on our trip but it was good to be home. Caroline told me before I left that she was planning another trip with Mimi and Papaw before Christmas. I sure hope they have as much fun as we did!!Sunday, October 30, 2011
Fall Plantin' Time
The temps dropped pretty fast and it is chilly on Windy Hills! Caroline is all wrapped up, laid back, and chillaxin' in her stroller as she watches Mommy plant bulbs for this spring. Not to worry bout the cool temps though, Caroline has plenty of oh so cute blankets to chase away the chill and let's not forget all her stylish hats adorned with rhinestones! No need to be frumpy just because it's cool says Caroline! I love her cubby little cheeks peeking out from under her hat. They are just perfect for kissing.I added a new video of Caroline earlier today, it's called Gettin' Jiggy With It. I apologize in advance for the shaky recording... it was me laughing at Caroline. Just couldn't help it!

Caroline the Caterpillar
Wednesday afternoon was Fall Festival time at the church. Mommy came home from school and quickly dressed herself as Betty Crocker. She had to be at the church early to work at the candy stand. Later, she said she got several funny looks while driving to the church in her chef hat! Daddy dressed Caroline and they left for the festival a little later. Caroline was a colorful caterpillar! She was so sweet all bundled up in her furry costume and didn’t seem to mind the warm temperatures that evening. A big thanks to Chloe and Nat Nat for the use of the caterpillar costume, it was a perfect fit!

Isn't She Lovely?
It's been a good week! Mommy went for a well check last Wednesday and Caroline and I went too! After Mommy's dr visit, we went to Red Lobster. Woohoo, it was good, good! To walk off our lunch, we went to Dillard's for a little retail therapy. Caroline was bored so she went to sleep early on in the therapy session!
Mommy went to the grocery store and bought so much food that the sacks took up all the counter space, leaving only a small spot for Caroline and bumbo! Looks like Caroline is really studying the nutritional info on the side of the 100 calorie packs!! Probably trying to decide if she wants chocolate or graham cracker!
I received a picture of our little Halloweenhooter. Caroline was hanging out with Mommy at home and think they were playing dress up. Isn't she cute? Caroline's shirt says Whooo's Got Treats?? Poor lil girl, just wait til next year, you'll get all the treats you can eat!

We Interrupt This Program ...
... to bring you some very important news just in. A little girl just told me about a birthday party she went to Sunday. She said the party was for a very special lady in her life, her great grandmother, who everyone calls Mamaw. She said that today is actually Mamaw's 90th birthday and asked me to send out big birthday wishes to her today. So Happy Birthday Mamaw, from Caroline and everyone at Windy Hills! We hope you have a wonderful day to celebrate YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMAW, I WUB YOU!

FIVE Months and Counting
Today our Sweet Caroline is five months old! That’s right, you read it correctly. FIVE months! Earlier today, I looked back at the first blog and found October 18th. On this day a year ago, Caroline was the size of an olive!! Now she’s here, healthy, happy, spitting, sputtering, kicking, and rolling! Best of all? We know what she is, our precious little GIRL!! High five Caroline!!

Bedtime Bubbles
Last night, around 10ish, I noticed that Daddy had sent me an email at 9:40ish. I opened the email on my handy dandy iPhone and saw that it was a video. Oh goodie, I love getting videos. I downloaded the video then waited for it to play. The screen was black but I was hearing a sound. It was Caroline blowing bubbles, the experts call it blowing raspberries. I'm thinkin', after listening to it twice, Caroline was supposed to be going to sleep and the room was dark, hence the black screen. This is now my new favorite video! I can just see the little stinker puckering her lips up, blowing spit as hard as she can, then taking a big breath to finish the sputter! Turn up your sound when you look listen to the video, Bedtime Bubbles, to hear Caroline entertain her Mommy and Daddy as she goes to sleep.

Punkin Went to the Patch
It was a beautiful day for a trip to the Punkin Patch! Our Sweet Caroline looked as pretty as a punkin in her red and white pokie dot capri ensemble!

The Bumbo Mumbo!
Caroline has been a little under the weather for the last day or two. We aren't exactly sure of the official name of her ailment but the general consensus is a tummy virus. Each time she drinks a bottle, you better look out cause it's coming back up!! Mommy and I both have gotten a milk bath! It doesn't seem to bother Caroline, she hasn't missed a lick. She's been in a good mood and not too fussy at all. I think she's feeling better as she has been very vocal the last few hours! Check out the new video, Bumbo Speech. I caught Caroline chattering up a storm while she was watching Mommy cook dinner. Yep, I think she's feeling better!Monday, October 10, 2011
Our Little Buckaroo
I think Mommy and Daddy made an excellent choice in toys when they bought the jumpy thing for Caroline. I have gotten such a kick out of the videos that I'm getting of the lil Buckaroo jumping. I think she may go 8 minutes on the bull when she gets a little older!! Check out the video I just added, Our Buckin Bronco. There is also a video added that Mimi sent me earlier. It's pretty funny too. Appears that Caroline is showing Papaw the proper technique on The Rollover move. She still has a little elbow work to improve on but over all, I think she's got it. Yay Caroline!

Hop, Skip, and Squeal
Granny and Papaw got a little stroller to push Caroline around in outside. We call it her Hot Wheels. Caroline was queen for a day and enjoyed the backyard immensely. Mommy and Daddy came to town after work to get a jumper bouncy thingy and eat pizza. Mommy sent me a video today of Caroline in her new jumper. Sounds like she loves it. Check out the video to the right to hear one of Caroline's sessions!! Talk about a workout! Reckon those come in adult size?

Playing Footsie

A little birdie told me this has been a week of discovery for Caroline. And you know what? It's true!! Caroline has discovered her lil' bitty toes! We were on the floor having our morning meeting and Caroline became bored with the conversation. She grabbed a foot and started sucking on her big toe! I had to laugh...when Purty Gurl saw me laugh, she broke into a xxlg grin which caused her to lose suction on the toe. She worked hard to get her foot back to her mouth and finally made it ... but ... it was the other foot!! Oh to be limber again! Another feat that Caroline is working on is rolling from her back over to her tummy! Her execution is not real graceful but it's a roll over as far as we're concerned and she gets a 9.5!! She has a little trouble figuring out what to do with that pesky elbow... can't seem to work it out from under her tummy yet. Don't worry Caroline, I have the same problem sometimes! Check out the new videos, top right, Finding Toes I, Finding Toes II, and Hangin' Out on the Patio on YouTube.

Busy Week
It's been a busy, mixed up week! I worked four days instead of two and I'm not sure what today is! I remember I went to Windy Hills one day and enjoyed Caroline...Wednesday I think it was!
Monday, Mimi sent me a picture of Caroline and Papaw watching Mickey and friends! I bet Mickey looked life size to Caroline on her new big screen TV!
Wednesday morning we took the bouncy seat out on the patio to enjoy some fresh air. We watched several deer graze in the backyard and two squirrels race each other round the trees! It got warm and humid quickly so we retreated inside where it was a little more hair friendly. Later on in the afternoon, Caroline and I sat outside and watched Ace and Deuce rip and romp while we waited for Mommy to come home.
Check out the new video just posted. Caroline is enjoying her squeaky giraffe, Gina.

Chick Pics
I probably shouldn't post these pictures as they were professionally taken but they aren't the originals. Actually, I put them on the fridge, took a picture of them with my phone...(hence the glow around my neck!), emailed them to myself, downloaded them to the blog ... sooo, technically... here they are anyway. I really, really like these pictures. Not because they are good, it's because of WHO is in them.
Our Caroline has a hunnerd faces and this shot is so crazy cute! She appears to be testing out the new freedom of her tongue! "Sthee, I can be cute AND sthilly at the sthame time!" She is such a doll baby but then again, I AM a wittle bit biased.
The second shot of Caroline and her Mommy is beautiful. Don't they look like movie stars? Mommy has taken good pictures since she was a baby but this one is stunning. Look at Caroline's hands, are they not just precious? She thought of that all herself! Told you she was smart.
The third picture is priceless to me. I'm so grateful to have my picture made with my absolute favoritest people in the whole wide world. Think Caroline is grinning because she knows she has us wrapped around her finger? Yeppers, prolly so.

TGIF and WPS!
Today was a busy day for two of my favorite gals...Granny Kat celebrated her 39th birthday! Yay Granny and Happy, HAPPY birthday to you. We all hope it was a really good birthday for you!
Miss Caroline went to the clinic this afternoon to get her four month shots. She was a real trooper too. I heard her crying as she got stuck but she had settled down by the time they returned to the waiting room. Just one little tear was all that was left! I talked to Mommy after I got home this evening and she reported that Caroline was doing well. That's good news too! Hopefully she won't have much discomfort from the nasty old shots. Caroline needs to be in tip top shape tomorrow so she can root the Hawgs on ...WPS!

Happy FOUR Month Caroline!
It’s been a few days since my last entry so I better catch up before I get fired! Let’s see…Happy 4 Month to Caroline. Our sweetie pie honey bun is FOUR MONTHS OLD! I realize that I say, “ I can’t believe it!” waaay too much, but I truly can’t. This time last year, we were told that a baby was on the way and now, our beautiful Caroline is here, she’s perfect, and she’s four months old. Amen anyone on flying time?
Sweet Caroline is changing every day. About the only time she is a cuddly wuddly arm baby is when she first wakes up and when she is trying to go to sleep (sometimes). Otherwise Caroline likes to sit erect when watching TV, no more bitty baby layin' for her. She also likes to swing and seems to enjoy the wind in her hair. Caroline is making a variety of different sounds now; one which can be especially alarming. When she sets up a good cry and is not satisfied quickly, she will make a sound that is a cross between a squeal and a whistle, like traffic cop uses. Trust me, it will get your attention and she does not hesitate to use it either! Ohmygoodness, it makes me nervous.
Caroline went to the doctor yesterday for her check up. She weighed in at a lean 14 pounds and she now 2ft. 2 in. tall! Miss Cootie Patootie has grown 6 inches in length since her arrival. Wowwiee! The doctor said she was doing fantabulous. Yay for Mommy and Daddy in taking such good care of our baby gurl! Bad news often follows good news though ;(…Caroline will go Friday to get her dreaded “Shots”. Hopefully they won’t affect her too badly, good thing is…Mommy will be home to make her feel all better, there’s nothin’ better than Mommy when a gal feels yucky.

The Hat on the Cat
It was Wear Your Hat at Home day in the Hills! Caroline modeled all of her hats - some fit, some didn't as you can tell. In the third picture, Caroline is sporting the cap she wore around the house when she got out of the hospital! I'm amazed at how much she has grown since May 18th. Our beautiful baby girl will be FOUR months old this Sunday. It just doesn't seem possible! What did we do pre Caroline? What did I talk about?

9-11
Sunday is the tenth anniversary of the most horrific event in our generation, 9-11. On September 11, 2001, 19 terrorist from the militant group, al-Queda, hijacked and crashed four commercial airliners, killing thousands of innocent Americans. This was a series of four coordinated suicide attacks upon the United States in New York City and the Washington DC area. On that morning, the hijackers intentionally crashed two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City; both towers collapsed within two hours. A third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. A fourth jet, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania before it could reach its intended target in Washington, D.C. after the passengers attempted to take control. Nearly 3,000 died in the attacks.
Any of us who watched those events unfold will never be able to erase the images from our minds. Caroline will never remember this tragic event, she will only read about it just as we studied of tragedies that happened before our time. I hope as she learns of these events that she will come to love the country she lives in. I hope when she sees Old Glory that it will be a symbol of freedom to her. I hope when she hears The Star Spangled Banner or God Bless America, that she will be proud of her country and pause to give thanks for those who gave their lives for it. For with all of her faults, failures, and disappointments, the United States is still the absolute best country in the world in which to live...... God Bless America.

Faces of Caroline
Papaw and Granny came to Windy Hills Thursday for a visit. Papaw brought his camera and took a few pictures of Caroline. She has so many different expressions and ALL of them are cute!

It's A Zoo Out Here
Greetings from Windy Hills where it's a ZOO today! We have dogs, bears, zebras, cows, giraffes...you name it - we got it! It's been a good morning here in the Hills. It started early, four o'clock early! Caroline was ready to get up to start her day. Needless to say, the rest of us were a little slower getting started! Caroline finally went back to sleep after some gentle rocking, for thirty minutes or more...zzzzz. After Mommy and Daddy went to work, Caroline and I set up camp in the living room with all of the animals. First to get a spit bath was Gina, the giraffe. Caroline seemed to handle her well! Check out the new video, How to Eat a Giraffe. Caroline gives Gina the Giraffe a good work out!Sunday, September 04, 2011

I'll Pay For This One

I know I shouldn't post these pictures. I can't help it, they are so adorable, if only to me. So Caroline, please forgive me and don't hide my cane when you see these someday! I wub you.... After our first nap yesterday, I wiped Caroline off with a warm wash cloth and some baby lotion so she would smell a little more babylike - fresher, if you will. As an after thought, I made a quick swipe across her head. Ooops, oh no ... baby lotion! All I could do was laugh and you see in the picture the glare I received from Caroline. (It's just that her hair is never that flat.), The second photo is Granny burping Caroline. At just the perfect moment, Papaw Glenn snapped this shot. I think it's a favorite. Caroline appears to have teeth, two of them! Even though I know they're bubbles, I think of Chiclet's Gum! Be sure to check out two new videos listed at the top right of the blog. Caroline seemed to sense being recorded and was a little quieter than usual. Wouldn't you know, the minute I turned it off, she chattered like a chimp!

Weekend Fun

Mommy and Caroline went on a shopping/visit trip Saturday. They met up with Natalie and Chloe at Ramy and Daniel's house. In one of the pictures, I see that some folks enjoyed my favorite sandwich shop, McAlisters. I'm sure the girls and Mommies had great fun catching up and shopping. I feel sorry for poor little Stecks when he gets here soon...he will be surrounded by a gaggle of giggly girls and he will have to learn how to endure many shopping trip to come!
